AI generation log

Strise logs a fingerprint (a SHA-256 hash) of each text its AI features generate for your team. You can use it later to check that Strise wrote a text. The text cannot be rebuilt from its fingerprint.

Find it under Settings → AI generation log.

To check a text against the log, select Open the AI text verifier on the same page. See The AI text verifier.

What is logged

Strise writes an entry each time it generates free-form text for your team, for example:

  • Review AI Summaries and assessment summaries (see AI features)
  • Adverse media event summaries
  • Replies in assisted PEP, sanctions, and adverse media verification

Translations and structured data that Strise extracts from documents are not logged.

Each entry holds:

FieldContent
FingerprintIdentifies the text without storing it.
FeatureThe Strise feature that generated the text.
ModelThe AI model that wrote the text, when it is known.
TimeWhen the text was generated.

The log never stores the generated text or the prompt sent to the model.

Settings

SettingOptionsDefault
Log AI-generated textOn, offOn
Retention13 months, 5 years, 10 years5 years

Turning logging off stops new entries. Entries already in the log stay until they pass the retention period.

Every day, Strise deletes entries older than your team's retention period. This also runs while logging is off. A shorter retention period takes effect at the next daily deletion.

Teams that had chosen 3 months, an option that no longer exists, now keep entries for 13 months.

When your contract with Strise ends, Strise deletes your team's log entries with the rest of your team's data.

Checking a text against the log

The AI text verifier looks texts up in this log. When it finds no entry, it answers "No match in the log (entries kept for up to 10 years)". It names the longest retention period, because it never knows which team a text belongs to.

No match does not mean a person wrote the text. Common reasons for no match:

  • The team had logging turned off.
  • The entry passed its retention period.
  • The text changed after Strise wrote it.
  • Strise wrote the text before logging began.

Who can change it

Users whose role grants the Edit team settings permission can change these settings. Among the built-in roles, that is the Manager role. Users who can view team settings but not edit them see the page read-only. See Roles and Permissions.
