How to find companies, business persons, and private persons in Strise — quickly when you know what you’re after, and thoroughly when you don’t.
Where You’ll Find It
The search bar sits at the top of Strise on every page. You can click into it from anywhere — Portfolio, Review, Monitoring, or any entity page — to use quick search via the dropdown, or open the full search results page (also reachable directly from the control bar). There’s also an inline search built into add and edit flows, like adding an owner or role, or editing the ownership and control structure.
Two Ways to Search
Quick Search
Click the search bar and start typing. A dropdown appears below with matching results, grouped by type — companies, business persons, and private persons. Each result shows core details inline: country, registration number, registration date, legal form, and the source the data came from.
This is the fastest way to find an entity you already know. If you can see what you’re looking for in the dropdown, click it (or arrow down to it and press Enter) to open the entity page.
Full Search Results
If you want to see every match, compare results, or apply filters, press Enter with nothing highlighted in the dropdown — or click the Search button. This opens the full search results page.
The results page shows the same matches with more detail (industry codes, address) and gives you a sidebar with filters for entity type, country, and source. Typing a new query in the search bar on the results page updates the list directly.
Where data comes from: Both views show results from all available sources — Norwegian, Swedish, Danish, Finnish, and UK registries, plus global data from connected providers. A small badge on each result tells you where it came from.
Filtering Your Results
Filters live on the search results page, in the sidebar on the left. You can filter by:
- Entity type — All entities, Companies, Business persons, or Private persons.
- Country — Type to find a specific country.
- Source — Choose one or more data sources to narrow results.
Filters Stay Active as You Search
Once you’ve set filters, they remain active when you type a new query on the results page. This lets you narrow your search within those filters — for example, only Norwegian companies from a specific source — and run several searches without resetting your filters each time.
Active filters always appear as chips at the top of the results page so you can see exactly what’s applied. You can remove a filter by clicking the × on its chip, or use Clear all to reset everything.
Leaving the Results Page
When you navigate away from the search results page, your filters are cleared. The next time you start a search, you begin with a clean slate.
Inline Search in Add and Edit Flows
When you’re working inside an add or edit flow — adding an owner, adding a role, editing the ownership and control structure — you’ll see a search field built into that flow. This works the same way as quick search, with one difference: it has its own compact filters for source and country built into the dropdown.
This lets you narrow your search to find the right entity without leaving the task you’re in. Filters here are scoped to that flow only — they don’t affect the main search results page or carry over when you close the panel.

Tips for Better Matches
Match the Registered Name
Search tolerates typos, diacritics, and case differences — so Equinr will still find Equinor, and a search for oslo will match entries registered as “Oslo”. Common-noun stopwords (e.g. “holding”, “company”, “AS”) are stripped from the input before fuzzy matching, so the meaningful part of the name carries more weight. Queries must be at least 3 characters.
Identifier Searches
If your query looks like an organisation number or other identifier, Strise routes it straight to the identifier index for a faster, more direct match. Identifier searches respect the global-countries filter and pick up any team-specific entity edits, so the result you see is the same entity you’d see anywhere else in the app.
Search by Registration Number
You can search by registration number directly. If the same number appears under more than one source (for example, a local registry and a global provider), you’ll see all matches in the results — choose the one with the source you trust.
Why Some Entities Appear Twice
The same entity can show up more than once when it’s registered in multiple data sources. Each version comes from a different provider, indicated by the source badge on the result. As a rule of thumb:
- Local registries are usually best for Nordic and UK entities.
- Connected global providers cover everything else.
