Risk Flag Settings

Risk Flags are bite-sized signals attached to companies and persons — “high-risk industry”, “recent employee reduction”, “pending litigation”, and similar. Each flag is a distinct kind of signal that your team can choose to trust, ignore, or treat differently depending on the jurisdiction.

The Risk Flag Settings page lets you control which flags contribute to the entity’s risk assessment per country, and under what conditions.

How Flag Settings Work

Flag configuration is a three-dimensional choice:

1. Country. Flags are enabled per jurisdiction, so you can trust a Norwegian EmployeeChange signal more than a UK one if that matches your policy.
2. Flag kind. Each country’s setting page lists the flags available in that jurisdiction. Defaults are all-on for Norway, Sweden, Denmark, Finland, and the UK.
3. Conditions. Most flags support additional gates — severity thresholds, direction, or both.

Severity Thresholds

For flags that carry a severity level, you can pick the minimum severity that will count. A flag configured at “High” severity will only contribute if the underlying data qualifies as High; Low and Medium occurrences are suppressed. You can combine multiple severity thresholds for a single flag to create a customized gating policy.

Direction

Some flags represent changes that can go either up or down — the EmployeeChange flag is the canonical example (employees hired vs. employees let go). The Direction setting lets you enable only the direction that matters for your risk model. If you only want to know when a company is shrinking, enable Decrease and leave Increase off.

Where Flag Settings Apply

When a flag is disabled for a country or conditions are not met, the flag still exists on the entity — it just doesn’t feed into:

• Calculated Risk points.
• Monitoring alerts driven by FlagPublished review triggers.
• Review PDF flagged-events section highlights.

In other words: the settings control whether a flag is actionable, not whether it’s visible. Disabled flags are still shown on the entity page for transparency.

Supported Jurisdictions

If you operate in other jurisdictions, flag data may still be published, but configuration is country-scoped to the above five.

Permissions

Only Team Managers can modify Risk Flag Settings. Regular Users see the resulting flags on entities but cannot change how they’re configured.
