AMS Settings
AMS (Adverse Media Screening) settings control how Strise screens entities for negative news and adverse media coverage, including the time range, languages, and filtering options.
AMS Screening
Entity Scope
AMS screening is performed on entities in your portfolio:
| Entity Type | Screening Behavior |
|---|---|
| Companies | Screened for adverse media mentions |
| Persons (roles) | Persons with roles in your companies are screened |
| Owners | Screened for adverse media mentions |
| Beneficial Owners | Screened for adverse media mentions |
Search Duration
The search duration controls how far back in time Strise looks for adverse media:
| Option | Description |
|---|---|
| 1 year | Only media from the last 12 months |
| 2 years | Media from the last 24 months |
| 3 years | Media from the last 36 months |
| 5 years | Media from the last 60 months |
| All | No time limit; all available media is included |
A shorter duration reduces noise from old, potentially outdated media while a longer duration provides a more complete picture of the entity’s media history.
Search Languages
AMS screening can be configured to search media in specific languages:
| Language | Code |
|---|---|
| Danish | da |
| English | en |
| Finnish | fi |
| Norwegian | no |
| Swedish | sv |
You can enable or disable individual languages. Only media published in the enabled languages will be included in screening results. Enabling more languages increases coverage but may also increase the volume of results to review.
Filtering
Sources
You can filter AMS results by source domain (TLD):
| Filter Type | Description |
|---|---|
| Include | Only results from the specified TLDs are shown |
| Exclude | Results from the specified TLDs are hidden |
Use source filtering to focus on trusted media outlets or to exclude sources that produce low-quality or irrelevant results.
Topics
You can filter AMS results by topic to remove irrelevant categories from the Knowledge Graph:
| Filter Type | Description |
|---|---|
| Remove Topics | Exclude specific AMS topics from results (e.g., topics not relevant to your compliance program) |
Topic filtering helps reduce noise by removing categories of adverse media that are not pertinent to your due diligence requirements.
